10th Muharram/Ashura is very important in Islam. The sacrifices of the family of Muhammad P.B.U.H are attributed to this day. Muslims mourn Muharram.
Why Ashura Impotent in history?
Ashura is so important in history because a lot of events which are the mentioned blow took place on Ashura day.
For example:
1.
In
that particular day, the army of Fearon was destroyed.
2. The pardon of Hazrat Adam (A.S.) was accepted at 10 Muharram (Ashura
Day).
3. Hazrat Ibrahim was born on that specific day.
4. Hazrat Yousif (A.S.) got freedom on that day.
God (Allah) Almighty made pen, chair sky mountains, and ocean at the
Day of Ashura. And the most important event which was taken place on that day
is the Martyrdom of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) and the day of resurrection will also
be at Ashura.
The relation between the immolation of Hazrat Ismail (A.S.) and
Hazrat Hussain (R.A.)
When Allah Almighty gave the order to Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.) to
scarify his beloved son Hazrat Ismail (A.S.), and the great Prophet Hazrat Ibrahim
(A.S.) got ready to do so, Allah Almighty saved the life of Hazrat Ismail
(R.A.) by sending a sheep for scarifying instead of Hazrat Ismail (A.S.).
Because God Almighty wanted this sacrifice from the beloved grandson
of his beloved Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.). There was a great mystery behind it
because there will be no Prophet after Muhammad (P.B.U.H.).
Therefore, the great-grandson, Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) was selected for this immolation. Therefore, there is an excellent relationship between the immolation of Hazrat Ismail and the Martyrdom of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.).
Why Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) was selected for this sacrifice
If we compare and contrast the immolation of Hazrat Ismail (A.S.)
And the martyrdom of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.), Hazrat Ismail was the son of Hazrat
Ibrahim (A.S.), and Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) is the grandson of Hazrat Muhammad
and the sometimes human mind thinks that the great martyrdom should have
awarded to the real son of Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) Now the question is that if
Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) had a young son.
He would not have been awarded the crown of Prophethood then
believers of other religions taunted this thing because in the history of Prophets
the sons of almost all Prophets were granted with the crown of Prophethood.
If Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) had a young son and he would have
been selected as Prophet, then Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) could not be called
as the last Prophet of Allah Almighty. Therefore, Allah Almighty Selected the grandson
of his beloved Prophet for this martyrdom.
The nobleness of Hazrat Ali (R.A)
Hazrat Hussain was the great son of Hazrat Ali, and Hazrat Ali had
many relations with Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H.). He was the cousin of last Prophet
Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) Hazrat Ali was the man who embraced Islam in his childhood.
He (R.A.) was the son in law of Prophet Muhammad, and about Hazrat
Ali, Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) said I am the city of Knowledge, and Ali (R.A.) is the
door of that city.
Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) is the mixture of Greatness of Hazrat Ali
(R.A.) and the piousness of Hazrat Fatima (R.A.).
Who is Hussain?
Most courageous, Most Judicious, Most Perspicacious, Most virtuous,
Most Loyal
and the man of grand patience is called Hussain (R.A.).
Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) said that Hussain (R.A.) is the leader
of all young people who will be awarded the gift of Heaven. On another place,
beloved Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) said that to love Hussain (R.A.) is to love
Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.). Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) always used to pray
“may God love (Hussain mean Hassan and Hussain)”.
Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) and Hazrat Hasan (R.A.) were the great
passengers of the world because when they were children, they used to walk on the
beautiful shoulders of the crown of the creation Muhammad (P.B.U.H.).
Hazrat Hussain (R.S.) was granted with the great resemblance with Holy
Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) because he (R.A.) was selected for the greatest
purpose; therefore, he had a great resemblance to his grandfather.
Love of Khalif (R.A) with Hazrat Hussain (A.S.)
Hazrat Umar loved (R.A.) greatly to the great-grandson of Hazrat
Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) once upon a time. When his son asked to do something he
rejected, but he (R.A.) allowed Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) to do the something and
at that time he (R.A.) said that our
souls are blessed with Islam due to your great grandfather, Muhammad
(P.B.U.H.) How I can stop you from doing something you are superior to my son
in all fields of your life dear Hussain (R.A.)
Great virtues of a great-grandson, Hazrat Hussain (R.A.)
Some events are given below to show the excellency of the private
life of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.).
Great/Beautiful/Excellent behavior of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.)
We can understand the greatness of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) behavior
through this event that one day a beautiful gift of flowers was given to Hazrat
Hussain (R.A.) by a lass. In return, Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) set her free for the
sake of God, from his own, and when Hazrat Ans (R.A.) inquired about this act, that why Hazrat
Hussain set her free, she just gave a gift of a minor flower, Hazrat Hussain(R.A.)
said that “Allah Almighty says that whenever you are presented good gift so,
you are supposed to return like that or more appropriate than that”, and he
(R.A.) said that he (R.A.) presented a more appropriate gift to that a servant gift.
Mind-blowing Hospitality of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.)
Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) was the man of greatest hospitality once upon
a time he was traveling.
And in his way, some people recognized him and requested to dine
with them. He (A.R.) went there in order to dine with them, and He (R.A.) said
that he (R.A.) was not hungry, but he starts eating in order to make them
happy. It's a great example of his grand hospitality.
Power/manliness of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.)
Hazrat Hussain got Prowess from his father Hazrat Ali and manliness
from his grandfather Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) therefore He (R.A.) was the
live embodiment of bravery. In his teenage Hazrat Ali (R.A.) appointed him and
Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) as the guard to protect Hazrat Usman (R.A.) from rebels,
and both brothers paid their duty very well.
For Knowledge of Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) about the martyrdom of
Hazrat Hussain (R.A.)
Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) got the news of the immolation of Hazrat Ismail (A.S.) in his dream, but Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) got the news of the martyrdom of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) through divine revelation. Hazrat Jibril (A.S.) told the beloved Prophet (P.B.U.H.) that his great-grandson will be killed in Karbala and when Holy Prophet demanded the soil of “Karbala”.
Jibril
(A.S.) provided it to the crown of creation, and respected wife of Hazrat
Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) narrated the same event and said that "one day Holy Prophet
(P.B.U.H.) was weeping bitterly and when the reason was asked he (P.B.U.H.)
said that "Hazrat Jibril (R.A.) told me that Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) will be
killed in “Karbala” by my people."
Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) gave the soil box to Hazrat Salma (R.A.)
which was provided by Hazrat Jibril (A.S.) and said that when this soil would
turn into blood my (Hussain R.A) will be killed.
Prediction of Hazrat Muhammad about the sworn enemy of Hazrat
Hussain (R.A.)
Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.) the second shower of knowledge knew that
the son of Hazrat Amir Maawia (R.A.) would be the killer of his great-grandson
and Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.) shared this piece of information with Hazrat Maawia
(R.A.) Therefore Hazrat Maawia (R.A.) decided not to marry through his life,
but it was the divine order of Allah that the son of a respected /great khalif
Hazrat Maawia (R.A.) Will kill the grandson; therefore, Hazrat Maawia (R.A.)
decided to marry a woman medically unfit and was unable to be a mother.
But due to the order of Allah that lady gave birth to a boy named (Yazid) and
that person was the bitter enemy of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) and the enemy of Muslims
and Islamic doctrines.
And at the end of 8th (Hijri) he (Yazid) became the
cruelest and the meanest and most vulgar person of that time. He was a rapist, gambler, and notorious rascal. He wanted the supremacy in order to introduce his wrong
beliefs.
He was in the land of Iraq,
and the great-grandson of beloved Prophet was in Medina and Yazid wished that
Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) accepted that he (Yazid) is his (Khalif) and Hazrat
Hussain (R.A.) rejected badly to do so.
He (Yazid)gave two options to Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) One is to
accept his supremacy or second to fight with the army of Yazid.
Hazrat Hussain selected the second option because he (R.A.) did not
want to see the annihilation of Islamic doctrines.
Why Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) left Medina
When Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) Came to know that the army of Yazid is
ready to kill him if he does not leave Medina Then at that time, he (R.A.)
decided to leave the sacred city of Medina. Because he did not want any types
of bloodshed in that greatest city, the bloodshed was against the respect of
city Medina. So Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) beloved grandson left the city of his
beloved grandfather in order to restore the grace of the great city.
He left Medina and migrated to Makkah with his family.
Last visit of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) to the shrine of Holy Prophet
(P.B.U.H.)
Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) Spent his whole life under the kind
observation of his beloved grandfather, Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) and his patients
but knew it was a time to leave Medina probably forever. And this thing made Hazrat
Imam Hussain (R.A.) more ailing, and his pious heart was full of sorrow due to
his separation from his great grandfather and parents.
He (R.A.) sent a blessing on Muhammad (P.B.U.H.), narrated the whole
story of his migration to his grandfather, and at last, he wept badly. At that
night Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) came to the
dream of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) and encouraged him and showed his great love and
said, they are watching for Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) in Jannah after getting a big the reward of martyrdom.
When Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) awoke, he (R.A.) felt comfortable.
Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) migration from Medina to Makkah.
He (R.A.) migrated from Makkah to Medina with his whole family, and
this migration was similar to that migration when the Muslims of Makkah migrated
to Medina before the conquer of Makkah. People of Makkah welcomed him, and it
was a thing of utmost happiness for them that the great-grandson of Prophet
Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) came to their city to live with them.
Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) did not tell anybody and did not try to gather
the people against Yazid. And the people of Iraq were continuously writhing his
letter that they are waiting for him and Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) must Join them
in Iraq. The great event of Hajj was at the distance of three days when Hazrat
Hussain made up his mind to go to Iraq.
When Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) stayed at Makkah after the migration of Medina.
He sent Hazrat Muslim bin Akeel (R.A.) to Iraq in order to know the situation
of Iraq. Hazrat Muslim bin Akeel (R.A.) was the emissary of Hazrat Imam Hussain
(R.A.) When he (R.A.) entered in Iraq, people welcomed him greatly and showed
their great concern with him.
Hazrat Muslim bin Akeel (R.A.) wrote each and everything to Hazrat
Hussain (R.A.), and he (R.A.) got ready to go to Iraq. But after one day Hazrat
Muslim Bin Akeel felt that people of Kufa misguide him and after some search
the army of Yazid found.
Hazrat Muslims bin Akeel and killed him because they knew that he
is the great lover of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) and a true Muslim, therefore he
(R.A.) was killed by Yazid army.
In His way to Iraq Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) heard the news of Hazrat
Muslim bin Akeel (R.A.) martyrdom, but he continued his travel because He
(R.A.) Knew very well that it was the time of examination.
When Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) wanted to meet Yazid and wished to warn
him not to violate the beautiful values of Islam. But Ibn-e-Zaid who was the
governor of Kufa at that time did not let Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) meet Yazid; he
gave two suggestions to the great-grandson of Hazrat Muhammad either they
accept the supremacy of Yazid or to be killed and Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) the son
of the bravest soldier of Islam, accepted to fight a battle which is said the
battle of Karbala.
When he (R.A.) accepted the challenge of battle, the cruel army of
Yazid started his oppressiveness.
The cruelest army adopted different methods to inflict pain and
sorrows on Hazrat Hussain (R.A.), but he remained determined and did not accept
the mean supremacy of Yazid.
Hazrat Hurr (R.A.) was a great son of Islam and was the man of
Yazid army at that time but, when he met with Hazrat Hussain he could not help
but love the Hazrat Hussain (R.A.), soon the pious family of Hazrat Hussain forgot
each and everything about Hazrat Hurr(R.A.) Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) allowed him to fight on
their part and Hazrat Hurr (R.A.) fought and embraced martyrdom.
Then the month of Muharram or Ashura started. This first month of
the Islamic year is called Muharram because battle or any kind of fight was
avoided in his Holy month.
When this month started Yazidi, army stops the family of the pious grandson
from getting water from the river.
When he reached Iraq, it was first of Muharram, and Hazrat Hurr
(R.A.) was with the army of Yazid at that time.
Hurr (R.A.) came to talk to Hazrat Hussain (R.A.), and when the
time of Assar prayer came Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) asked Hurr (R.A.) will you
offer prayer under my leadership or would you offer prayer separately.
Hazrat Hurr offered prayer under the leadership of Hazrat Hussain
(R.A.) and went back to inform the Yazidi army about the present condition.
Land of Karbala
Yazid did not want to see Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) therefore he
ordered that the army of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) must be stopped in the desert of
Karbala and he know that there would be a great shortage of water but in order
to inflict pain on Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) and his family, he did so.
Near the Karbala, there was river Furat, but the Yazidi army decides
not to let them drink a single drop of water. When Hazrat Hussain landed in
Karbala, he (R.A.) told his companion that Here our camels would sit, here we
put our luggage and here.
Companions will be embraced martyrdom, and it was the second date of
Muharram.
Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) Tried his best to avoid battle but of no use
because Yazid wanted the supremacy and without the martyrdom of Hazrat Hussain
(R.A.) It was impossible.
It was 9th of Muharram when Yazidi army announced that
they are going to fight at that very moment, but Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) demanded
one night to offer prayer and to make his Allah happy.
Hazrat Hussain last Address with his companions
At night Hazrat Husain (R.A.) Addressed his companions last time
and said that they are free to choose ether they want to stay with him or want
to go, they all were agreed to stay with Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) in the lurk. And
After it, they offered prayer and spent the whole night in the remembrance of
Allah Almighty.
And next day was the day of examination of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.)
and his family. Hazrat Hussain offered his Fajar prayer with great love, and
everybody from the family of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) was ready to fight in order
to secure the pious value of Islam. Although they were thirsty from 3 days and
were hungry also, after facing immeasurable pain and problems their will and
faith on Allah were still indomitable.
And they were the disloyal people of Iraq and Karbala who first
invited Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) as their guest and Imam, and now they have become
his bitter enemies.
First-person who fought for Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) in Karbala
Hazrat Abdullah Bin Umar was the person who came to Karbala in
order to help Hazrat Imam Hussain. Hazrat Abdullah fought with great bravery,
and after killing so many people, he (R.A.) embraced martyrdom.

Martyrdom of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.)
When all his companion, friend and family member embraced martyrdom
one after the other
And finally, it was the time of the martyrdom of Hazrat Hussain
(R.A.), and when he decided to go to the battlefield, Hazrat Zain ul Abdeen
(R.A.) came to him. He was carrying a spear despite his weakness and illness,
he (R.A.) wanted the permission of fighting in the battlefield, but Hazrat
Hussain (R.A.) did not let him go to the battlefield and said” how can I give
you the permission, all companion, friends, and relatives have been embraced
martyrdom, you are the only (Mahram) for all ladies and form you my generation
will continue, And you are supposed to live with patrician and always follow
the great sunnah of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.). Then he (R.A.) loved his son and
put his turban on the Hazrat Zain-ul-Abdeen (R.A.) head and made him lay on the
bed.
After it, he came back to his camp, wore Misri dress and wore the
holy turban of Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H.), and put the shield of Hazrat Hamza (R.A.)
on his back and took the Zulafkar (sword) of Hazrat Ali, and watching this the scene all the ladies wept bitterly he (R.A.) ordered them to show patience and endure
all problems.
When he reached the battlefield, he (R.A.) was hungry thirsty and sad
after watching the martyrdom of his family members and relatives.
And then recited (Hamd and salat) after it delivered a forceful speech,
in order to stop the battle but when he (R.A.) felt that they are stone-hearted,
so he (R.A.) became ready for the fight.
And Yazid army saved many famous warriors from making them fight
against Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) because they knew the bravery of the son of
Hazrat Ali (R.A.) and Hazrat Fatima (R.A.).
Yazidi army firstly sent Tameem bin Kahabta, a famous wrestler of the
country Sham. When he was coming toward Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) in his proud
Hazrat Husain (R.A.) attacked him powerfully and cut his head.
Then they send Yazid Abtahi who wanted to show his bravery and
wished to get a great reward from Yazid. He announced that he was the great
wrestles of Sham, and there was no one to challenge him, everybody accepted his
bravery and fearlessness. And he said to Hazrat Hussain (R.A.)
“Now you are supped to watch it.”
In reply, Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) said that.
“You Don't Know
Who am I?
In my vein, I have the blood of Hazrat Ali (R.A.) and Hazrat Fatima
(R, A)
I am the loin of
Hazrat Ali (R.A.) and
you are noting
in front of me.”
Then Shami warrior attacked Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) Hazrat Hussain
(R.A.) save himself from that attack, and after it, he (R.A.) attacked him and
that attack was too powerful to cut the proud warrior into pieces.
Badar bin Soheil Yami was Watching that scene, and he said to Ziad
that you are a fool, and sending timid people against Hussain (R.A.). He ordered
to send one of his sons against Hazrat Husain (R.A.).
Iban-Saad sent his elder son when he reached in battlefield Hazrat
Hussain (R.A.) said that it would be better for your father that he himself
comes to me, in this way he would not have seen your dead body, and in his the first attack, he killed the warrior.
After watching the contemptuous death of his son Bader, he came to
the battlefield, and in the state of wrath, he said that I am the warrior who
can change a mountain into dust.
And when he said so, Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) cut his head with Zulafkar
sword.
And Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) was catting the head of famous warriors
of Yazidi army, in spite of his hunger and thirst, he inseminated the croup of enemies’
head in the land of Karbala and proved that he is vulnerable/ indomitable man
of Allah Almighty.
And when Yazidi army saw the horrible end of their wrestles and
warriors, they planted so many people to attack at once on Hazrat Hussain (R.A.)
from all sides in this way, and they thought that they would be able to win the
battle.
Firstly, they made Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) Injured by using a spear
and when he was badly injured, they attacked him with a sword only one member
of Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) family was fighting with a thousand people.
And then the poisoned spear hit Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) forehead, and
his forehead started to bleed, it was that pious forehead which was kissed by
Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) countless times.
Then a fiendish person hit Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) with the spear. He
(R.A.) received 72 injuries of sword and spear and finally embraced martyrdom
by paying thanks to Allah Almighty.
When he was killed, his age was 65-year five-month and five days.
Nazir bin Karbala cut the pious head of Hazrat Hussain from his
body.
Kohli bin Yazid and Sanan bin Ins and Shabel bin Yazid cut the head
of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) from his body.
After cutting the head of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.), They enemies of
Islam put it on a spear in order to show their victory and to creak fear in the
heart of people at the same time. When they stayed near a Girja at night, a
verse of poetry was written on the wall with blood. The meaning of the wall
verse was.
The people who killed Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) have a hope to be
interceded by Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.).?? When they asked the man who
belonged to Girja that who did this, he replied that the verse is written five hundred
years ago before the birth of your Prophet (P.B.U.H.).
And when this Monk watched the heads on the spear, he asked about
the reason and said you are empty-minded and cruel people, who have killed the grandson
and the family members of your Prophet (P.B.U.H.)
Monk accepted Islam.
Then Monk asked them to let him have the head of Hazrat Hussain
(R.A.) for one night and gave a massive amount in return. The Monk washed the
dust and pored some fragrance on the head of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) and
started to watch the pious face of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.).
He felt that the rays of divine light were coming from Sky to the
head of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.), and suddenly he knew the truth of Islam, and he
started reciting Kalema Taiba. It was just the miracle of the most beautiful face
of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.).
When Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) head came to Yazid court
He started shedding crocodile tears. When he watched the head of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) he condemned Abin-e-Ziad, but he was fake in his compliments because he never regrets again and never tried to hang the killer of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) infect he wanted to kill Hazrat Hussain (R.A.), he did so, and then he was only pretending to be sad in order to get the favor of the people.
After the martyrdom of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.)
After the martyrdom of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.), the Yazidi army was
free to attack Medina, and they attacked Medina and started the violation of
Islamic and laws. They started drinking, raping, and killing on a large scale.
They almost killed ten thousand Muslims who was the companion of Prophet
(P.B.U.H.) and Tabaeen and raped the pious ladies of Medina, and the showed
disrespect toward the Roza e Rasool (S.A.) After attacking Medina.
They attacked Makkah
And they made the same attacks on Makkah. They showed no concern
toward Khanna Kaaba, and the people of Makkah were in great pain. When Yazid
died, and the Yazidi army got the news of Yazid's death, they felt a sense of fear
and ran toward Iraq.
After the death of Yazid
People of Hijaz and Yaman accepted Hazrat Abdullah (R.A.) as their
leader. The people of Sham and Iraq decided to make Maawia son of Yazid as
their “Ameer” he was a pious man.
He always condemned the evil deed of his father, and he died after forty
days, and he never considers himself Ameer. Then the people of Iraq decided to
accept the leadership of Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (R.A.).
The horrible denouement of the Hazrat Hussain (R.A) Killers
In the reign of Abdul Malik, Mukhtar bin Safi was the chief leader
of Kufa and he swore not to forgive the killer of Hussain (R.A.) he asked the
name of all killer, and after getting all information, he started killing them.
First of all, he killed Ibn-e- Saad and his son then Kohli Yazid
and burnt the dead bodies of these men.
He killed shimmer, and his dead body was offered to dogs to eat.
The head of Ibn-e-Ziad was being cut and was put in a big plat, as five years
ago Hazrat Hussain (R.A.) Head was presented in the court of Yazid, and people
