On August 15, all Indians celebrate their Independence Day with great enthusiasm and congratulate their loved ones on the joy of Independence Day.

15 August is the Independence Day of India. Hindus of subcontinents got this country after the struggle of so many years. They were trying their level best to score a separate homeland for the Hindus and other minorities who wanted to live in India.
Founding fathers of India had a concept of a secular state in their mind when they were going to demand a separate homeland. And on 15 August, their assiduous efforts bore the fruit, and they became able to live in their independent state. Because before it, they were living a miserable life under the punishing rule of British rulers.
Is Independence Day a holiday?
Independence Day is celebrated a holiday throughout the country.
Schools and other educational institutes are kept close, businesses, markets,
and public transports are also kept close in order to celebrate this great day.
So it can be said safely that Independence Day is a national holiday in India.
Special activities have been done on this day in order to make the
national day remarkable. President and prime minister of the country are
supposed to deliver a forceful speech to make the hearts of the public full of
national love and great feelings of patriotism.
People decorate their houses, streets, and cities for Independence
Day. Special gatherings are held to celebrate the great victory. Most of the
public wants to visit great leaders' monuments, including the monuments of
Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaher Lal Nehru.
The national flag of India is hoisted on all national public and
private buildings of India. The main ceremony of the flag hoisted is held in
the new Dali. The public came to watch this special ceremony and national
parade on Independence Day.
Presidents and prime ministers of different countries send their
special greetings to the prime minister of India.
The preparations for Independence Day started when the month of
august started. Markets are decorated, national song competition is started,
new channels and social media started a campaign to enlighten the mind of the
common public about the sacrifices of the great soldiers.
Cultural activities are promoted in order to develop a sense of
pride with Indian made stuff. People happily visit their relatives, and they
exchange gifts to make the day marvelous and memorable.
The President and prime minister of India deliver a speech on this
day to let the people think that India's independence was achieved after a long
struggle and countless sacrifices. So, the public is supposed to contribute to
India's development and prosperity.
Doctors, engineers, players media persons, social workers, and artists congratulate the masses by using a different type of social media.
Background of Indian Independence Day
Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs were living together in the subcontinent
before the arrival of British rulers. British rulers came to India in 17 centuries
for the search of new markets for their products. The company started to rule
over India in 1757.
Indians started their rebellion against the rule of east India
company in 1857. British rulers crushed this rebellion with great pressure and
force.
Then a period of struggle and suffering started in the
subcontinent. Muslims did not want to live in combined India with Hindus due to
the revelation of the two-nation theory.
Before the division of subcontinents, all the Indians, including
Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs. They all were wanted to send British rulers back in
order to restore their monarchy in their motherland.
The national congress party was formed in 1885 to defend the rights
of Indians. Then the movement of civil disobedience was led by Mohandas
Karamchand Gandhi. In 1929, in the Lahore session, Purna Swaraj declared the
need for an independent India.
In 1946 the independence was made clear by the British rulers. In
August 1947, India and Pakistan separate charge was supposed to hand over to
the leaders of respective countries.
Mount baton suggested 15 August's day for the exchange of power
because it's the day of victory over japan's. So Mount baton wanted to do this
act of power exchange on this specific day. Jawaher Lal Nehru took the oath as
the first prime minister of India.
Huge celebrations were held through the country; along with these celebrations, a storm of pain, sorrows, and bloodshed also came in the wake of independence.
